Privacy Policy for ez3D
Last updated: 2026-10-20
ez3D is a browser extension that adds 3D video controls to side-by-side (SBS) 3D video, for AR glasses, glasses-free 3D monitors and anaglyph viewing on a 2D screen. This page explains exactly what data the extension touches.
No data collection
ez3D does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, browsing history, or video content. It has no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party network calls of any kind.
A video file you open in ez3D's local video player is played on your own computer and is never uploaded.
What is stored, and where
- Master on/off toggle — stored in
browser.storage.local, kept only on your device, used to remember whether the extension is enabled. - Per-tab display settings (zoom, anaglyph mode,
projection, lens, pan) — stored in the page's
sessionStorage, scoped to that browser tab only. This data is cleared automatically when the tab closes and is never sent anywhere.
All of this data stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded to any server operated by the developer or anyone else.
Permissions used
- Runs on all websites — ez3D's script loads on every page, including embedded players in frames, because a 3D video can play on any site. On each page it reads only the video element, the page's title and description, and the video's own frames, which it compares on your device's GPU to tell whether the video is side-by-side 3D. It reads nothing else on the page and sends nothing anywhere.
- Access to local files (
file:///*) — lets the overlay run on a video file you open directly in the browser. It reads only that video, the same way as on a website. -
activeTab— lets the extension's popup act on the tab you're currently viewing when you open it, for example its Fullscreen button. -
scripting— required to inject the fullscreen 3D overlay and controls into the page you're watching a video on. -
storage— required for the on/off toggle described above.
ez3D does not request access to your browsing history, bookmarks, or cookies, and it reads nothing from a page beyond what is listed above.
Third-party sites
ez3D runs on top of video players on sites like YouTube, Vimeo, and Dailymotion, but it is not affiliated with them and does not alter, collect, or forward any content from those sites elsewhere.
Gifts and payments
The gift page lets you send a one-off amount by card. The amount you type is passed to Stripe, which collects the card details on its own payment page and processes the payment. Card details are never entered on an ez3D page and never pass through one, and nothing about a payment is stored by ez3D. This concerns the website only — the extension itself contains no payment code.
